To all my friends everywhere,
Gerry Boylan's "Christ in Training" is a significant book. It is a
powerful book. It is a book worth reading and re-reading. It is a
book I easily recommend to all students of Inner Christianity,
Christian mysticism, esoteric Christianity, New Thought Christianity,
Neo-Christianity, A Course in Miracles, the Scattered Brotherhood and
other seekers of the Christ Mind.
"Christ in Training" is a very good book, and I like it quite a bit.
I consider myself very fortunate to know Gerry personally and to have
been given the honor of publishing this new digital edition of his
book, and permission to make it available online for free.
Gerry self-published "Christ in Training" in 2007 as a printed book.
Although it was Gerry's first book, it was not the book that Gerry
WANTED TO write.
It was the book Gerry HAD TO write, and it was a struggle for him.
Gerry gave me the digital file for "Christ in Training" in the Fall of
2008, but I didn't start to work on preparing the digital edition
until March, 2010. I was dragging my feet for some unknown reason.
When finally I got to work on page layout design and formatting, that
too was a struggle. It didn't feel like I was formatting an eBook, it
felt like I was massaging a living breathing life form.
The book moved.
The book vibrated.
The type shifted and changed before by uncomprehending eyes. It
seemed to expand and contract with a mind of it's own. I've never
experienced anything similar to the task of this one simple digital
book publishing project.
Now it is a sunny Easter Sunday morning in the Spring of 2010, and
this bird is ready to fly. The book has reached a level of relative
stability, and it's good to go. I hope you enjoy "Christ in Training"
as much as I do.
