Hi all,
So far, I am planning on holding the meeting times during the exact
same times as last week:
Saturday, February 5 @ 9AM HST (
http://goo.gl/RFwAP)
Sunday, February 6 @ 5PM HST (
http://goo.gl/ZbPPM)
If you cannot make either of these sessions, please let me know
immediately.
We'll be talking about the basics of setting up and running PHP files
on your own computer, running PHP in your browser with CodePad and
CollabEdit, variables, strings and numbers. We'll also break up into
pairs toward the end and you'll go over the exercises you created for
exercise #6 of the assignments together.
In the meantime, if you want to set up Apache and PHP on your own
computer, you should check out this post in the forums:
http://introduction-to-php.988178.n3.nabble.com/Install-php-on-your-own-PC-td2362799.html
The first two posts in this thread contain a link to instructions for
installing Apache and PHP on Windows and Ubuntu Linux respectively.
Of course, you can complete all the exercises and assignments, and do
quite a bit of playing around with the language just in CodePad. So,
it's not necessary to install Apache and PHP at this point, if you
don't have the time or inclination.
