At any rate, we are honored by your request and eager to provide music for our HU family. We would love to perform for your event. I am confused about the date, however, as your email indicated that the event would take place Saturday, April 15, but the 15th is a Sunday. Please just let me know which date you intended to include.

As for payment, we can negotiate the price. We typically have a set performance rate of $50/hr. for each musician, but (1) I know student organizations are often strapped for cash; and (2) we aren't playing all three hours, so the price would be lower than normal. We'll be bringing 7 musicians, so once adjusted for the time we'll actually be playing the price we're asking is $770 ($36/hr. per musician). Feel free to call me if you would like to discuss this figure further.

We do not own a sound system, so we will need to use one provided by the French Embassy. Please feel free to give my email or phone number ((512) 431-9810) to the sound personnel so I can tell them what we'll be bringing and what we'll need.
