Ubuntu installation

Hey great work there!

I'm trying to get intrael working on Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS but since i don't have much experience with linux I am having some troubles
I have downloaded intrael-1.0-lx86.tar.gz but i dont know how to run it.

Btw later on i am planning to use it with a raspberry pi. Is that possible?

I'm sorry to be the bringer of bad news but the kinect won't work with the Pi. The usb used on that board is of poor quality, I would suggest you try a different board like this https://www.olimex.com/Products/OLinuXino/A10/A10-OLinuXino-LIME/open-source-hardware  

Now as far as intrael is concerned it hasn't been updated for quite some time. I'm actively working on converting it to a C library though,along with bindings for many languages(do you have a preference?). If you're interested in the original intrael functionality it will be very easy to build networked computer vision services with it(I will have some samples at launch). It should be available at some point in February, I can ping you if you like.

I need it as a part for my thesis. i just need the depth map from the kinect so i can navigate my robot automatically

The code for the control is written in C#. But even if i manage to get it working on a ubuntu pc it will be just fine i guess :)

i just want to get the stream wirelessly on the pc that the control algorithm is running and have it as an input in my C# project

I am Cypriot btw if you want to talk in greek :)

Ωραια βολεύουν τα ελληνικά :) Οποτε απο οτι κατάλαβα θες απλα το depth map και θα κανεις την αναλυση για τα εμποδια στη C# και θα στελνεις πισω οδηγίες στο ρομποτ? Σε αυτή την περίπτωση το ιδανικό θα ήταν να στέλνεις ενα subsampled map ( ξερω γω 40χ30 pixels) γιατι το full depth map θα ναι αργο
