Hello everyone, I hope your Thanksgiving week was festive and filling.
Looking at the calender, the holidays are already starting to take up
lots of weekends between now and the new year. Our next club ride will
be a short two weeks from now -- Saturday, December 13th. We'll meet
at 7:30pm, location to be announced later.
Like last year, we'll be taking an evening ramble around downtown with
a dinner stop along the way. It's great fun to bundle up, turn on the
lights, and roll around after dark seeing what we see. Unlike most of
our rides, this month's will not have a predetermined route or agenda,
the brisk evening air will be our guide. We'll stop for dinner along
the way and probably pull over to warm up somewhere near the holiday
lights in Centennial Park.
Our previous two December rides have been chilly to downright COLD, so
make sure to wear warm layers. Since we'll be out after dark, bring
front and rear lights plus some sort of bright or reflective clothing.
And since we'll be stopping to go indoors a few times, bring a lock or
a friend with a lock to secure your bike. Looking forward to seeing
everyone there!
(Our regular style of historic and cultural touring will resume in
January.)

Sorry for the delay on posting the details of this weekend's Holiday
Evening Ride, getting the logistics of a night ride together are
challenging -- we're moving the venue from downtown to the east side
of town. Once again, this will be an unsupported and undirected
evening ramble IN THE DARK, so bring extra lights and warm but bright
clothing to be seen! We'll be close to several MARTA stations and will
be stopping lots.
We'll be meeting at Village Coffee in L5P (near the corner of Euclid
and Moreland Ave) at 7:30pm. We'll be going from there to eat dinner
at a location of the group's choice and then mosey back to either L5P
or Decatur. The route will be undefined, the goal is to experience the
city in two times that we seldom ride bikes -- at night and in the
winter.
