Overload when generate pdf using fop.

Hi all,

Our software allows the patient access it and generate a pdf report of their results. However, we have a server with 3 cache instance, and each instance has about 5 customers(laboratory). Each customer has hundreds of report being generate by day, consequently the server has been having overload.

Our software uses fop to generate report and we set the hot jvm, however it won’t solve the overload problem.  

We are thinking to user another server only to generate the pdf report. Anyone has used this approach? And if don’t what approach do you use to solve it?

You could use an async mirror and run the reports there
