Hi all,

Has anyone seen this error message and can you tell me in what context it is generated? And what can/must we do to avoid it?

Thanks,

Hari

With Long String support off, this happens when there are too many object types on the page to fit within a 32k string. I believe that with long string support turned on (which it is by default in 2009.1) this restriction is lifted.

Currently the body of ZenMethod calls may be larger then 32k but the header may not be.

If you cannot streamline some of the calls, decrease the size of the page, etc, then please log a WRC issue requesting an enhancement. Depending on the urgency of your issue you may also want to request WRC support in streamlining your page. I should note however that Dawn and Mike have individually been showing themselves masters in performance tuning on the community and that other members have been providing some great advice based on their experience in this area as well.

Best Regards,
Derek Day

We are using 2008.2

The documentation says:

Enabling support for long strings is done via the Management Portal at [Home] > [Configuration] > [Advanced Settings]. The category is “Miscellaneous” and the setting name is “EnableLongStrings”.

This can also be set by the function, $ZUTIL(69, 69).

However, when I look in that area I do not see a setting named EnableLongStrings.

We would want to try and review if this is set to false, and if yes, set it to true and make a test to see if the problem goes away or not.

Thanks,

Hari
