Hello,

I have downloaded free Cache Evaluation version and run it on Windows Vista
Business SP1 32b. The installation finished successfully a few months ago
and everything worked fine, until today. Suddenly, without any change to
Windows or Cache configuration, the internet browser now cannot display any
CSP page (for example System Management Portal or Documentation from the
Cache cube menu). What can went wrong?

Thanks,

PL

Re-install Caché and see if the problem is solved.
As a precaution, before re-install, export the user defined classes and
data.

Hi,

I am quite sure that after you have installed Caché ("a few month ago") , you have not changed one very important parameter of the
security setting:

Home->Security Management->System Security Settings->Sytem-wide Security Parameter.

By defalt the value of "Inactive limit (0-265)" is 90. If you don't use Caché 90 days consecutive, the users CSPSsytem or Admin..
will be unenabled.

To change this situation, try to open the Terminal, go to "%SYS" and execute "do ^SECURITY". I believe that it is possible with
recent Caché (2007 or 2008). In old version of Caché (at least untill 5.2.3), even the Terminal is no more available and you had
to restart Caché in Emergency mode to execute this routine. Once you have launched ^SECURIRTY, enabled the user CSPSystem and
Admin also the service needed, then you can have acces to SMP, then change the value of "Inactive limit (0-265)" to 0.

I hope that it helps.

Hello Sukesh,

I hoped it may help too, before writing the post, but it didn't. I
re-installed Caché twice, the problem remains.
I tried turn off Windows firewall, also didn't help.
Below is the content of Apache web server error.log, it seems that it works
properly:

Hello Lê Thanh Huong,

I have changed Inactive limit via the ^SECURITY utility to 0, users Admin
and CSPSystem are enabled, the problem remains.
Caché doesn't display any CSP page (even not class documentation from Caché
Studio).

Hi PL

1) Have you tried using FireFox browser ?
2) Which Apache Web Server version?
3) Try by a) stopping Apache Web Server and b) use IIS to see if the
pages are served and rendered, to narrow down the problem area?
4) Check whether Caché Server Pages - Network Service Daemon
(CSPnsdSv.exe) is running as a service.
5) Check Tools->Folder Options->File Types for action to deal with CSP
pages.

Hope this helps.

Hello PL

First, navigate to the binary directory of your Caché installation and
run the following at the Windows command (CMD) line:

C:\InterSystems\Cache2008\Bin>ccontrol list

This lists information about all your installed instances. Now check
the web server is listening on the 'WebServer' port, by issuing the
following command.

C:\InterSystems\Cache2008\Bin>netstat -na | findstr 57772
TCP 0.0.0.0:57772 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING

Then open a web browser on the same machine and type the following
URI:

http://127.0.0.1:57772/csp/sys/UtilHome.csp

Hopefully, you should then see the Caché System Management Portal.

Best regards
Tony

Hi Sukesh,

thank you for your tips.

1) Yes, I have. The result is the same as with MS IE (requested server
exists, but the browser wasn't able to establish connection).
2, 3) I run on my PC only Apache web server, that comes with Cache
installation (c:\intersystems\cache\httpd\bin\httpd.exe). I don't care about
it, I suppose it should start automatically when Cache starts.

4) CSPnsdSv.exe is not running as a service. There are two running services
related to Cache - Caché controller for CACHEWEB
(c:\intersystems\cache\bin\cservice.exe) and Web server for CACHEWEB
("C:\InterSystems\Cache\httpd\bin\httpd.exe" -k runservice)
5) There is no action associated with the .csp file type

What can I do to correct these issues?

Regards,

PL

Hi Tony,

eureka! I performed these steps and detected that "127.0.0.1" in URL address
works and "localhost" doesn't. Since I'm not Windows administrator, Google
helped, I rewrote the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file and
replaced line "::1 localhost" with "127.0.0.1 localhost". The problem is
solved.

Thank you very much.
