I'm attempting to access data in Cache. I can telnet (port 23) to the server and login. Cache studio cannot connect on 1972. I've run a netstat -an and I don't see port 1972 waiting. I connecting studio to all other ports with no luck.
I can get to a %SYS> prompt.
Is there a command I can run to get the port?
I tried using SSPort, but it keeps yelling about the syntax. What is the syntax to use SSPort.
Thanks
Brian

If you do the following in terminal you can look for the a job that has a TCP device open.

Something like this

3000  |TCP|56779  %SYS           %SYS.SERVER       0,0     8

You can use the Config.Startup class: http://docs.intersystems.com/cache20131/csp/documatic/%25CSP.Documatic.cls?PAGE=CLASS&LIBRARY=%25SYS&CLASSNAME=Config.Startup

Specifically, you want the DefaultPort property.

The doc linked above has an example on how to get this and other values from the Config.Startup class.

If you see prompt "%SYS>" and didn't see prompt "USER>" before, may be your Cache in Single-User Mode, and of course you can use only terminal, but not telnet (you must check it).
If your Cache really in single-user mode, you need to see last log lines in cconsole.log, for  errors, why Cache starts in this mode.
And in this mode you have to use only one command:
Do ^STURECOV
for recovery normal work your Cache.
