As a precursor, I understand this question may be better answered by ISC; however, the following hold true:
That said, I was wondering if anyone had any information, which I cannot find after searching their website, on the ISC licenses.

Currently, our "License Capacity" matches the following: Cache 2010.2 Enterprise - Concurrent Users:158, Multi-Server, Platform Independent

We are charged monthly for "Cache Maintenance Enterprise", which is charged per user. Does the cost of this "Cache Maintenance" include upgrading to the newer versions of Cache. While I understand any applications that may run off of Cache may not be compatible with a newer version of Cache, I am trying to focus on whether or not this is included in this "maintenance" cost. If not, what's the point in paying for "maintenance".

Mack,
The answer is, 'it depends'.. :-)   Is the monthly bill you get from the vendor you bought the license for or from ISC?  It is possible to have 'maintenance' only without upgrade privileges, but it is rare.

Hi Mack

ISC sell two products through their partners

                Support

                Software Updates

Support gives one access to the wrc and updates does what the name says

But the support is usually for the application partner not the end user.

So, as a small application partner I charge my clients for support that covers *my* application support and I charge back the  ISC costs on top of my support.

Peter

The monthly bill is from the licensed reseller.

In that case ISC will likely direct you back to the reseller to answer the question. Like Peter, we charge a fee for our support, and then have a separate line item for the ISC support/upgrade fees.  In our case we make it clear on the invoice that the fee covers both support and upgrades for Cache.  Your reseller may do it differently.
