As of the 1st December 2006, the Playboy casino brand is no longer active. Ladbrokes, who operated the franchise, are now redirecting all traffic to Ladbrokes Casino which uses the same software (Microgaming). The demise of the Playboy brand is thought to be largely down to the fact that it could never accept US players due to Playboy operating from within the USA and contravening "grey" laws regarding online gambling, and that Playboy was never allocated a big marketing budget. It is however anticipated that it will re-surface on a different software platform operated by a new licencee during 2007.
