Hello,

I am writing on behalf of the social media blog Mashable, the United Nations Foundation and 92nd Street Y to invite you to participate in the first ever UN Week Digital Media Lounge.

From September 21-24, 2010, the Digital Media Lounge will offer a dedicated, fully-wired venue for NGOs, online journalists, and independent media. As the worldÔøΩs leaders convene in New York, youÔøΩll get unprecedented and exclusive access to experts on issues like poverty, hunger, HIV/AIDS, womenÔøΩs health, and climate change.

A comprehensive agenda will give you the chance to interact with high-level government officials, UN Goodwill Ambassadors, celebrity advocates, thought leaders and newsmakers. This is truly a unique program bringing the best of UN Week and the Millennium Development Goal Summit to leading voices in the digital world.

UN Week Digital Media Lounge highlights:

  • dedicated work space and high-speed wired and wifi internet access
  • access to global leaders and media makers via Video Skype interviews and in-person briefings
  • all star cast of international NGOs, digital and mainstream media;
  • great opportunity to network and build relationships;
  • refreshments/happy hours

There is no fee required to access the Digital Media Lounge but accreditation is necessary. Apply for access here: http://bit.ly/dupvlE

Top blogs and media outlets such as Huffington Post, Firedog Lake, LINK TV, Globovision, CNN, Time Magazine, The Economist, GOOD Magazine, PBS, and Al Jazeera are represented, as are globally recognized civil society groups like Oxfam, ONE, Action for Global Health, End Water Poverty, Greenpeace, and Action Against Hunger.

In contrast to previous UN Summits, which have largely been off limits to NGOs and digital media, the UN Week Digital Media lounge will bring closed-door conversations from the historic Millennium Development Goal Summit out of the halls of the UN and into the public arena.

Space is limited, apply for accreditation today: http://bit.ly/dupvlE

Sincerely,

Katie Saddlemire
