Capital Gain on Compulsory Acquisition of Plot

Dear All,


One of my client has capital gain on sale of NA Plots.The  plots were compulsory acquired by Municipal Coporation under the Land Acquisition Act. 

My query is whether the capital Gain is taxable or exempt  ??
