On behalf of the City of Sydney I’m excited to promote two fantastic opportunities that international students attending your organisation may like to seize! These are two ways that students can make new friends, learn new skills and enhance their study Sydney experience.

Please find the details and key dates outlined below, along with links that you can use to promote these programs through relevant newsletters and social media.

International Students Workshop: Useful Information, Support and Safety Advice; Wednesday 24 April

The City, with support from Redfern Legal Centre and NSW Police Force, are hosting a workshop to teach surf and street safety. Students can pick up a free banner bag and refreshments, get tips on share-housing, find out how to contact emergency services and see a self-defence demonstration by Kevin Marshall, of Fight Like A Girl.

International Student Leadership and Ambassador Program 2013

The International Student Leadership and Ambassador (ISLA) Program 2013 aims to enhance international students’ leadership skills by encouraging them to become ambassadors for the City of Sydney, by promoting its events and services to the international student community. The program offers free training opportunities to enhance an international student’s communication skills, personal and professional development.

Between 20 & 30 students will have the opportunity to participate in the program. Applications close 5pm Sunday the 28th of April.
