Hey,
Been working on the powerpoint + researching for target market/positioning more. (Since I heard prof wanted more data)
1) I think the country profile has a few unnecessary information. (Good for the written part, but don't think it needs to be in the slides.)
- Slides 2, 3 are good. Except I think we can explain the sex ratio a little differently. People (at least for me) won't understand the ratio of 1.06 male/female too easily. I say we reword it to like... "there are 6% more male than female" ?
- Use just the dollar currency. (American or Canadian - though CAD may be better). Using the RMB just clutters the slides and most people aren't used to that currency. We can mention during the presentation that all figures were converted though xxx or something.
I've converted all non-dollar figures using the currency rate shown on the chart. I think it will be easier if the figures were all consistent.
- I'm sorry, I should know more about the Chinese culture, but the part that says 91.5 HAN Chinese. Is there another group of Chinese that make up the rest of the population? I just took that part out.
2) I think Jing's purple template is great. I say we just stick to that one.
3) I think it will be better for target market to be just female clothing for now. Even in North America, men's clothes is slowly beginning to be introduced and growing. (Do have articles proving that and looking for specific data) I guess we can, but I personally think it's better to focus on girl clothing at first.
I've filled in the slides. I can present the SWOT. Ofcourse there are a lot more to say, just put the headings there.
I will send my word document with sources and etc in a little bit.
