Happy Monday guys, I hope everyone made it back before the leftovers of the "Bomb Cyclone".
I was happy to see the Juniors from RYC and SFYC.
Some notes from the racing:
- Initially the current wasn't strong enough to try to the area of the course where it was weaker (the left side towards the shore). So it was better to focus on shifts and new pressure fro the right.
- As the current picked up moving from Left to Right it was still better to focus on shifts and pressure, but Downwind it was far better to sail a high lane (broad reach on Starboard) than go low and BTL.
- The right side of the line was continuously more favored, but if you could start on time with speed at mid line or higher (towards the buoy end) then you could do well.
For the upwind in both rigs, put enough vang to bend the mast and trim to two blocked once you have speed. No Cunningham. 7inches on the Outhaul. Flat boat.
Good to see you all!
