So this might be an interesting topic.  Some of you don't use gloves at all.  But many of do.  I do and like them.

I have been using the Gill Championship glove for years. They seem to be falling apart faster than norma.  And they are expensive.  I don't like the dipped gloves, too sticky for me.  I like the long three finger glove with the cutoff index finger.

So what do you recommend without paying an arm and a leg for them?

Looking forward to hearing some responses to likes, dislikes, brands, etc....

Rick

Try these, you can cut off what you need. They are 2 sided and the price is good.

Or these which I like. Buy a pair to check the size. I now buy them by the dozen and keep extras in my truck in case I forget/ lose them. Also good for juniors

Hi Rick.
This is probably going to get some ridicule but, I found that Ace hardware has shorty gloves for around $12
They won’t last a season, but are a great backup to keep in your sailing bag.
Nothing works as good as gill though. ( in my opinion).

Rick,
I am very happy with my “ Hardy” gloves from Harbor Freight. They cost $4-5 a pair.

Photos at bottom.

Thanks for your responses.  Any more options out there?????   So far the best gloves I've used are the Gill Champs.

I found these ones online and thought they looked interesting so I'm buying a pair to see how they go.  The MRX True Sailing Glove $15 bucks.  They look like a Gill knock off at 1/3rd the price.

They are even sold at Walmart.

Stay tuned for the function and quality report.

Hi Rick,

My Ronstan gloves have been holding up well for 3-4 years of sailing. One unexpected thing I like about them is the cutout for a wristwatch - no other glove seems to have that.
They probably don't meet your "break the bank" criteria (I don't remember what I paid for them) but I think they were a worthy investment.
