The Spring Dinghy is now only 1 week away!

At the moment three are 38 entries but only 5 from the overall ILCA fleet and all of those in the ILCA 7 fleet. We need at least one more to get a start!

Note that because the 5o5 World Championship will be hosted by the St Francis Yacht Club in the Fall, and that fleet has requested that the venue for that event is off the West Face of Alcatraz, the Spring Dinghy will be raced at that location. The idea is start getting the Race Committee experience with racing there. The 5o5’s will run gate starts but all the other fleets (ILCA 6s and 7s, i420s) will have line starts. The tidal current prediction is for a light ebb during the racing time but, of course, we don’t know the potential impact of run off yet.

While the yacht club finally has a new race director in place, the office is still mainly staffed by volunteers. Among other things, they would like much more lead time for making sure everything is properly set for the expected fleet size. Among other things, this means the last day to register BEFORE the late entry fee goes up is MONDAY. So don’t wait any longer!

For those going to the ILCA MIdwinters West the following weekend, the Spring Dinghy could be a good tune up!

Finally, I’ve been out for so long with a never ending series of old age injuries, the latest of which (my right shoulder) seems to finally be ready for action again. I’m going to be horribly out of practice so this is a good chance to come and have a good laugh at my expense!

Hope to see lots of you there!

Tracy

Curious if anyone has a full rig mast that I could borrow for spring dinghy.

Final reminder from me - TODAY is last day for early registration, tomorrow the late fee kicks in. TODAY is the last day to establish a class for the event. Right now we have enough ILCA 7s but there is only one ILCA 6 and need 5 more to sign up there.

Hello,

This is my first and last reminder. Currently it is only me in ILCA6 fleet, which does not look very good of course.  I am really hoping some more sailors can sign up in the next couple of hours. It is probably not going rain this weekend and the city front will provide some good wind as it always does. So, it will be good to go out on the water this weekend.

Thank you very much,
Toshi

Toshi:

Take out your full rig and show them how’s done!

:)

That would be my last resort, but I am not sure if it works well at City Front :)

Thanks!,
Toshi
