If you need great rigging, Max is your guy.

He’s doing the rigging for one of the two favorites to win gold at the Paris Olympics (Mickey Beckett, UK). Does get any higher end than that!

I know some of you already know Max, so this is for the folks newer to modern Laser sailing.

Yes, he’s based in the UK, but the shipping prices from there aren’t bad.

July 2024 Newsletter

In our July 2024 newsletter, Southeast Sailboats has been travelling; a new version of our world beating ProMAX-99 traveller;  we look at what will be on Micky Beckett and Hannah Snellgrove ILCA’s at this summer's main event in France; travel tiller extensions; and a few other new things!

Southeast Sailboats in Canada

Southeast Sailboats was a proud sponsor of the Canadian ILCA Masters championships held at Jericho Beach Sailing Centre in beautiful Vancouver a few weeks ago.  Sailing in this spectacular venue with mountains on one side and the Vancouver skyline on the other is something that I will remember for ever.  Many thanks to everyone involved in running this wonderful event with super close racing and great hospitality.

Rigging Clinic at Rutland

Southeast Sailboats ran a rigging clinic at the inaugural UK Women’ ILCA Regatta held at Rutland Sailing Club last weekend.  This great 2 day event saw training sessions on the Saturday coached by some of the country’s top ILCA sailors, with racing on the Sunday, plus yoga and fun!   Southeast Sailboats had a great time helping sailors with their rigging.  Well done to all involved!

ProMax-99 Traveller - The ‘go for gold’ Yellow Bib edition

Micky Beckett led the testing of our world leading ProMAX-99 traveller a few years ago and it is used by European champions, Olympic gold medallists and more. Featuring the same core as the original but with a super slick yellow cover, this new 'go for gold' Yellow Bib edition is the best traveller you can get.   Used by Micky at the Hyeres regatta look out for this traveller at the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics!

Rigging for Micky Beckett and Hannah Snellgrove

Coming around every 4 years it’s not often that you get the opportunity to build up rigging for arguably the most important sailing event of all.  For the upcoming sailing in the south of France, Southeast Sailboats is delighted to be supplying all the rigging for our ILCA sailors, Micky Beckett and Hannah Snellgrove. Southeast Sailboats wishes them both all the best.  Southeast Sailboats will be enthusiastically waving from the Marseille shoreline!

On Hannah’s boat:

Outhaul – our standard side of boom Harken 29mm system. Harken 18mm clew block with our unique TogBone

Downhaul – Harken 29mm 6:1 system

Kicker/Vang system – Harken lower assembly, Harken middle block, Allen XHL hi-load top block

Deck blocks – Harken 29mm bolt-on version

Traveller – our new ‘Go For Gold’ yellow version of the elite ProMAX-99

Compass – Raymarine TackTick/CarbonParts mount

On Micky’s boat:

Outhaul – custom side of boom configuration using Harken 18/29mm blocks.  Double puller outhaul elastic system. Harken 18mm clew block with our unique TogBone.

Downhaul – our signature Harken 29mm 8:1 system, but with a white primary line (we have added this as an option on the website)

Kicker/Vang system – Ronstan lower assembly, Harken middle block. Hi load top block.

Traveller – our new ‘Go For Gold’ yellow version of the elite ProMAX-99

Compass – Velocitek PRISM/CarbonParts mount.

We did a video with Micky talking through all the systems.  Click on the link to watch.

If you want to rig your boat just like Micky or Hannah order via the website or get in touch!

Rooster travel tiller extensions

We asked Rooster if they would do a two part travel tiller extension and they said yes!  Make travel packing easier!  We have a very limited quantity available from stock, with more arriving soon.

Wrap around 'Push Through'  outhaul gooseneck blocks

Our outhaul systems have always used a ‘slide down the mast’ outhaul block at the gooseneck as we feel that they are less likely to get lost.  For those who prefer a wrap around/push through type these are now available on the website.  If you want a wrap around/push through block instead of the normal ‘slide down’ block when you order an outhaul system just add a note at checkout.

Hiking Strap Adjustment System: Available in four colours our unique hiking strap adjustment system is proving very popular and customer feedback on just how well it works has been truly great.
