Hi all,
We're putting on a four-day ILCA6 clinic at RYC August 11-14, 2026, with coach Luke "Swifto" Elliott. Limited to 8 students.
Swifto is really looking forward to coming to the Bay Area and putting this clinic on for us, we'll have a great time!
The participant fee for the clinic is $500.
Click the sign-up link below for details and to fill out the Google Form to reserve a spot. Then you'll get an email with a waiver to sign and a request for a $75 deposit to hold your spot.

I’m extremely interested but I don’t want to jump into a “6” and take away a spot that is maybe more deserving for juniors. Can we get a little more info on what is intended with specifying the “6”.

Steve, I’m guessing the 6 focus is because Jenny is organizing this and sails a 6, and it’s a lot easier to coach maneuvers and practice races if everyone is in the same rig.
For anyone not familiar, this is a great opportunity to get world class coaching at a reasonable price.
Some background: Swifto was on the Aussie Men’s Laser/ILCA squad for 10 years. This group has won gold at the last four Olympics. Swifto was as high as #2 on the squad, making him analogous to a Klay Thompson or Steve Kerr — a teammate supporting some of the best in the business. His best senior Worlds result was 10th, in Adelaide in 2024.
Now he’s a coach for the US Men’s ILCA squad, as well as for International Sailing Academy. While he’s world class, he meets sailors wherever they are at on their sailing journey. This includes Masters who can’t jump around like they used to.
Hope this is helpful for anyone who might still be on the fence.

Hi all,
Thanks for all of your interest in the clinic. Al explained the ILCA6 focus well; when I discussed it with Swifto, having a single rig group was his preference for this clinic for the reasons Al mentions.
