The video really helped me learn from a tactical situation that I could have handled better. (Thanks Julian!)
I was headed out to the starboard layline with Walt ahead and to leeward, and Al behind and to windward. I could cross Walt, but not Al. I tacked on the layline, Al tacked directly ahead of me. I was in his gas. I tacked away to port again. But, from the video, I started going slow the whole time from when Al tacked on me to whenI rounded the mark, and I tacked away again when a second boat tacked in from of me (not Al, but someone else... ugg). I should have just sailed fast, cleared my air by holding high (as Al wad driving low) and kept my spot. Instead i got distracted and lost 10 boat lengths in 2 minutes.
