To everyone receiving this message,
The
Alameda Community Sailing Center is sponsoring the 2026 El Toro National Regatta, and we're giving you a chance to try out our sailing spot! We've also invited the Laser/ILCA sailors from District 24, RS Aero sailors, and ACSC Open Sailing participants who want to race a Laser or Cube. Adults or kids. See attached Notice of Race.
The sailing conditions on the south side of Alameda tend to be warmer, and with lighter winds, than places like Richmond. We'll be sailing inside an enclosed breakwater in typically 9 to 13 knots of wind. The water temperature there, near the USS Hornet aircraft carrier, is about 68 degrees, with a sandy beach for launching. Think Half Moon Bay Yacht Club, only warmer, sunnier and populated by extremely cute harbor seals, for a similar venue. Entry is only $15. Skippers Meeting at noon. First start at 1pm with as many races as we can run until 4pm latest.
