Hello-
I'm looking for a (East) Bay Area Club to call home for ILCA sailing.
Curious to know what the recommendations are for spots with active dinghy/ILCA members, space for boat (+trailer) and good vibes.
Historically I was at TI; looking for tips on the new spot.
Thanks!
DJ

Call me biased, but RYC is a no brainer for the ILCA.

A handful of quality events each year... small boat mid winters, big dinghy, totally dinghy and then usually at least one major one like a pcc's or Masters pcc's. 4-6 of us are out on many weekends in summer including many of the top active masters in the area.

Variety of conditions inside and outside the breakwall. Dinghy ramp / yard with fake grass and hoses for washing boat and rolling sails, are all pretty deluxe.

Decent bar upstairs and often Emilio is pouring Rose in the parking lot after sailing... What more could you ask for?

Best is Alameda Community Sailing Center.

$66/ month for BOAT and small trailer like
a Kittyhawk.

I agree if you join the YC, which is a great one, otherwise ACSC.

For the sake of completeness…

In the East Bay, there’s also Encinal YC. Not many in our group sail there, but the Estuary is protected, and they have a nice dinghy yard and pool.

I keep my boat at Encinal during the summer and they have wednesday night dinghy racing... granted its aimed toward junior sailing however any dinghies that show up are welcome to the start line. It's a great place to sail in a sheltered location for some chill sailing but RYC or ACSC provide more diverse conditions.

Best,
Chase
