Untold: Race of the Century

For those of you with Netflix, I heartily recommend "Untold - the race of the century".  It tells the story of the 1983 America's Cup, where Austrailia 2 beat Liberty.   The interviews are interesting and the narrative is accurate.  The video does not always match the play-by-play coverage of the racing, but that is OK.  

There are some very interesting sports-psychology lessons, especially the Australian skipper John Bertrand talking about visualization.  I never really realized how creative one can be when visualizing until now seeing his story.

Appeals to racers and non-racers. I watched it with Anna.  At least when the movie was over I asked her if she liked it she said "Yes dear."  : )

During most of the 70s I drove for Dennis on his ocean racers

He gets sea sick

Do you know my friend Eddie Trevelyan? He was a headsail trimmer on the 1983 boat with Dennis. I’m sailing Etchells with him this weekend in San Diego. I will tell him you said hello, if you do know him.

That's funny, I raced with Dick Deaver a lot and he got sick also...one Bermuda race, I was invited to sail on Dennis Conner's boat, but when I got there, he wasn't aboard...now I know why!
