Hi, dancers,
On Monday, dancers reviewed an Armenian dance that we've featured before, Siroon Gakav.
Traditionally Armenian dancers were not accompanied by musicians, so they provided the
music by singing. Their dances, therefore, had simple steps that allowed them to concentrate
on the words of their songs. They also used the same dance steps for different songs.
These dance songs, like Siroon Gakav, are known as bariyerker.

Dancing every Friday at 8 and Monday at 7:30 in September.
