June 22, 2026, Playlist, Cobankat (Albania) - JULY Schedule

Hi, dancers, 

Our thoughts are with the people of Albania as they continue to try to save their treasured 

wetlands from development, so we're featuring another Albanian dance this week.  

Cobankat, The shepherdesses, is a beautiful song for which Lee Otterholt arranged 

traditional Albanian steps and created a dance that is a favorite for many of us.  In the lyrics, shepherdesses are spinning yarn for warm socks for the  soldiers of the Albanian People's Army 

who are in the snowy mountains.  

Lee Otterholt is an active folk dance instructor. 

July Schedule

Friday dancing will be at the BACC in Troy for three weeks,

 July 3, 24, and 31. 

There will be NO DANCING on July 13 and 17.

Monday dancing will be at the Royal Oak Center for two weeks,

 July 20 and 27.

There will be NO DANCING  on July 6 and 13.

This schedule is subject to change.
