Hi dancers,

In June we're featuring dances that Tom performed on Zoom for Ethnic Dance Chicago's Virtual Dance Room (EDC-VDR).  We featured this dance as a bonus on March 23, 2020, when we sent out our very first Monday Video dance, so this dance is a repeat.
Tom presented Dado La Dado on Zoom on May 15, 2021.
You can join the VDR by clicking here.

This dance was also taught as Joc Batrânesc and is also called the "old people's dance" in dance notes.
It was taught by Nicolaas Hilferink  who came to
Camp HighScope in spring 1990 and fall1996.

The Aromanians are a Romance ethnic group native to the Balkans, traditionally living in northern and central Greece, Romania, central and southern Albania, North Macedonia, south-western Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, and all Serbia. Wikipedia

From the New York Times
Michigan has a 46% fully vaccinated rate.

A year ago today, June 25, 2020, we had 448 new cases and our weekly average was 311.

Yesterday, June 24, 2021, we had 200 new cases with a weekly average of 158.

Compared to two weeks ago:
New cases: - 55%
410 hospitalizations: -48%
14 deaths: -58%

Except for twelve counties that are
still at high risk, all the others in Michigan
are at low, moderate, or unknown risk.

Macomb, Oakland and Wayne are at
moderate risk. Washtenaw remains low.
