Hi, dancers,
This week, Monday dancers enjoyed a varied program of familiar dances. One frequently danced dance is
Lesnoto, meaning "the light and easy one,"a Macedonian dance that creates a sense of community from the
first few steps and is very popular in the USA.  Folk Dance Footnotes notes that here "Almost any YouTube of
Macedonian wedding (called a svadba) will show people dancing... usually in its step, step, step, touch, step, touch, form." Folk dancers use many different songs and medleys for this basic dance that has variations
Our  December schedule:
We are dancing  Mondays and Fridays until our 12/19 Holiday Party and (easy clean up) potluck.
Then there is NO dancing until our New Year's Eve Party  (and easy clean up) potluck.
We're not yet sure of the exact start-time for NYE, but there will be a later start time as in the past.
Hats, tiaras, and noisemakers will be supplied.

Thank you for donating gloves, mittens, and even washcloths for GLOVEMBER.  Scarves and hats are also welcome.  Tom will be collecting until January 5, but one of our dancers volunteers twice a month at the soup kitchen, so we will welcome usable clothing any time you have something you'd like to donate.
