Hi, dancers,
On Monday, dancers enjoyed our last dance of November and are looking forward
to December dancing on Monday, 12/1.  We're  dancing every Monday and Friday
for the first three weeks of December, and our Holiday Party is on 12/19.
GLOVEMBER donations continue until 1/5/2026.
This week, Tom briefly taught the lively Vulpiuta or "Little Fox."  This Romanian/Oltenian
dance was taught in the USA by Sunni Bloland who learned it from from Theodor &
Lia Vasilescu, shown in this video.  (Lia happens to be wearing fall colors.)
Happy Thanksgiving.
Since 1970, it is also the National Day of Mourning, an opportunity to reflect on Native
American heritage and the role Thanksgiving played in the lives of their ancestors.
Being by Tanaya Winder (of the Duckwater Shoshone Tribe)
Wake up, greet the sun, and pray.
Burn cedar, sweet grass, sage—
sacred herbs to honor the lives we’ve been given,
for we have been gifted these ways since the beginning of time.
Remember, when you step into the arena of your life,
think about those who stand beside you, next to, and with you.
Your ancestors are always in your corner, along with your people.
When we enter this world we are born hungry,
our spirits long for us to live out our traditions
that have been passed down for generations.
Prayer, ceremony, dance, language—our ways of being.
Never forget you were put on this earth for a reason—
honor your ancestors.
    Be a good relative.
