Hi, dancers,
The Royal Oak Center is reopening soon, so Monday dancing will resume on September 8th
and continue weekly in September: 8, 15, 22, and 29. No dancing, of course, on Labor
Day, the first. We welcome fall on September 22, the first day of Autumn and the Autumnal
Equinox. Fall actually begins at 2:19 in the morning, EDT.
Friday dancing is scheduled at the Southfield clubhouse for August 29 and for every
Friday in September: 5, 12, 19, and 26. Rick attended the "Flint picnic" this year and wants to encourage dancers to attend next year on August 16, 2026. He enjoyed more than twenty-two different dances to live music with about thirty to forty people, some of whom came from Battle Creek and Windsor. Rick noted that the young dancers were enthusiastic if inexperienced, but one young priest was great to see with leaps and squats and true Macedonian styling. This event is well worth your consideration.
