Door County and our "World Cup of Detroit Folk Dancing"

Hi, dancers,

Friday dancing is scheduled to resume on the 17th,  

and Monday on the 20th.

You can watch Door County right now via Zoom, 

and you can also watch the World Cup on Fox TV.

I've been so impressed with the diversity and excitement of the World Cup that I thought it would be fun to find a "World Cup of Detroit Dancing." 

Forty eight countries have participated in 2026, so I made a list and 

found that we have a dance or dances from at least twenty-three

of these countries, dances that I'm very sure that we've danced.  

I bet other dancers or a little research into old playlists can find more. 

Real World Cup Information:

There are two Quarter-final games today.  

First it's Norway vs. England at 5pm. 

Then Argentina vs Switzerland at 9pm.  

You can tune in a little early for the huge flags and national anthems.

You'll get to see some superstars as well. And the zany costumes of the fans.

France has already eliminated Morocco, and Spain has eliminated 

Belgium (the team that eliminated the USA in the last round).

The four winners will go on to the Semi-finals, beginning on July 14.
