Hi, dancers,

The summer dance at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, or the "Flint Picnic,"

has been one of the highlights of the year for folk dancers. This year there 

will be food for purchase and music for dancing played by the Skimos Band, 

a Balkan band based in Fort Wayne that plays live traditional Macedonian

and Greek music along with songs from other Balkan countries. 

Bill Skimos, the band’s founder, led the group until his retirement in 2019. 

Today, Jim Skimos is on keyboard and vocals, Tom Bliznoff on saxophone, trumpet, bouzouki, and vocals, Zoran Popovski on guitar and vocals, 

Christopher Frank on drums, and Paul Topalov on clarinet and violin.
