We are deeply saddened by the loss of this wonderful man
who did so much to promote Bulgarian dance and folklore.
Yves also taught dances from Brittany, his native Quebec, and
other countries in the Balkans.
It is impossible to imagine what folk dancing would be like without
the dances he taught, dances that have truly enriched our lives.
Yves recently appeared on Zoom as an organizer of a tribute to
Bora Ozkok, and many Detroit dancers have had the
opportunity to meet him as he shared his expertise and
communicated his love of dancing at workshops throughout the years.
Yves passed away on September 8, 2023, at age 75, of PBC, Primary
Bilary Cholangitis, an autoimmune disease.
We send sincere condolences to his loving wife, France Bourque-Moreau,
a specialist in children's folkdance and music, and to his family and friends.
