Hi, dancers,
Monday was a not well-known holiday, National Pie Day. Masar, a Sacred
Circle dance done to the music of a Palestinian group, Le Trio Joubran,
is made up of pie-slice shaped patterns and was therefore an appropriate dance
to do on Pie Day. That aside, the music is somber and grows in intensity. It is available on the recording, Majaz, and the choreography is by Sally Ditzel.
Masar is a strong, proud dance.
We'll be dancing on Mondays and Fridays for the first three weeks in December.
The Holiday Party will be on December 19th, and New Year's Eve will be celebrated
on the 31st. No Friday dancing on the 26th. Monday, the 22nd, is yet to be determined.
Glovember + Washcloths until January 5th. Thank you for your donations!
