Hi, dancers,

A word from Tom: "I chose Stella di Maggio, an Italian Swiss dance, because dancers on Monday have been watching the Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, and the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland is nearby."

Stella di Maggio, or Star of May, is a dance from Ticino that was introduced by Yves Moreau. It is a simple dance in the maypole tradition, and although "maggio" is months away, temperatures are flirting with 50 and 60 degrees in Southeast Michigan this week.

Dancing weekly on Mondays in February.

Friday dancing this week, February 20, 2026, will be at the BACC.
