Dear all,
Since this week we are having Fairtrade Towns in The Netherlands as
well. On the 26th of February we announced that Goes and Groningen
were about to receive the Fairtrade Town title. The day before
yesterday, monday 9th of march, Goes and Groningen celebrated this
official moment. In The Netherlands the FTT-campaign started in summer
2007. It has been a long journey, but I am really happy that we
finally are having Fairtrade Towns as well. And: the third Fairtrade
Town is coming in May already.
In The Netherlands we are having a jury of Fairtrade Towns. Jan Pronk,
our former Minister of Development Issues, is part of that jury. We
made two short videos in which he congratulates Goes and Groningen.
Underneath you will find the links (sorry it is in Dutch). Next week
we will put another video online. This will be a more general video
with which we want to inspire other towns to follow the example of
Goes and Groningen (also in Dutch).
