If younger people had the same rights as older people, sexual mutilation would quickly disappear. Can you imagine an adult grabbing another adult in the street and cutting off part of their genitals? This would be simply inconceivable and would immediately fall under the law.

Kiddism aims to be for young people what feminism has been and still is for women: a project of emancipation, the next great step for humanity. Faced with male domination over women for millennia, humanity has not created 'specific rights for women', but has abolished this legal minority in favour of equal rights with men. In order to achieve the same goal of ending the domination of the oldest over the youngest, kiddism does not aim to establish 'specific children's rights', as was done in 1989, but to abolish the legal minority that discriminates against the youngest.

I am curious if 'adult-centrism' is perhaps a more understandable word to grasp for native English speakers. This podcast on Brendon marotta's Show explains "adultism" and "adult-centrism" in more detail.

Here are the latest blog posts from Brendon Marotta:

Here is the detail for the children's rights commissioners in Australia.

National Children's Commissioner (Australia)

State Commissioners for Children

Australian Capital Territory

Northern Territory

Queensland

South Australia

Tasmania

Victoria

Western Australia

Most recent correspondence from the National Children’s Rights Commissioner (2021)

“Public hospitals in Tasmania, Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia do not perform non-therapeutic circumcisions. However, it remains difficult to gain information on circumcisions performed outside of public hospitals and to distinguish between therapeutic and non-therapeutic male circumcisions.

The practice of male circumcision is sometimes conducted for non-therapeutic purposes and infants are unable to give consent, giving rise to human rights concerns. Better data that distinguishes between therapeutic and non- therapeutic male circumcisions would enhance our understanding of male circumcision in Australia.

Anne Hollands”

I sense that the children's rights commissioners are very aware of the potential rights violation associated with non-therapeutic circumcisions of children but as per the above hide behind the fact that legitimate last resort medical intervention does not constitute a rights violation

This is one of the primary reasons why my work focuses on funding provisions from Medicare as this represents the most reliable data for circumcisions being performed in Australia.

Funding is provided under the guise of medical necessity but in reality is a reflection of 99% of all circumcisions being performed in Australia most of which are non-therapeutic.

By ensuring compliance to the requirement for clinical relevance to access Medicare funding statistical data that only represents medical necessity will be solidified and evidencable.
