I've just learned that a French court has just stripped a mother of her parental authority for having circumcised her 2 boys against their father's advice.
This is the second conviction of its kind in France.
In the spring, Nicolas and I had met a highly motivated Parisian lawyer who agreed to specialize in the subject. This conviction should change the situation enormously, and become a real threat to parents who disagree, and probably even more so than in the case of female genital mutilation.
I had spotted this lawyer who had written an article on circumcision on her blog. This woman is the lawyer for 2 associations of battered men.
