I posted this comment there and invite others to do the same if motivated.

The West has been misled into believing two things about female and male genital cutting, which accounts for its hypocritical, gender-based opposition to all forms of FGC while tolerating all forms of MGC. 1) All circumcised women suffer from the cutting. The First Lady is living testimony that this is not true. 2) Male circumcision is harmless and can be justified by religion. The harm is being increasingly reported: Global Survey of Circumcision Harm www.CircumcisionHarm.org. For too long religion has been used as a reason to cut the genitals of unconsenting children, regardless of gender. No Religious Excuse for Genital Abuse.
