Figured I'd start a new topic just to organize the discussion a little
better, I was getting lost in the intro thread.

So, we have orientation at the World Bank...

((10:00-11:30am (arrive at 9:45 to clear security and bring government
issued I.D. with you)

The Main Complex of the World Bank

1818 H Street NW - Room MC13-121

* Please use the Visitors Entrance on the 18th Street side of the
building))

Now, I don't know where a good place to meet is (Is there a lobby on
the main floor maybe?), but I figure it'll take a good 10-15 minutes
to get to the metro, about 15 min to the nearest Metro station near
the World Bank (McPherson? Someone correct me if I'm wrong), and then
a good walk to the world bank from there. That makes the absolute
latest to leave at about 9, but I would suggest anywhere between 0830
and 0845, depending if we can take the shuttle bus to Union Station or
not.

I'm a newbie to DC, so someone PLEASE correct me if I gave some
incorrect information. Just wanted to get the ideas rolling.

Last note - Anyone want to meet up before or after the meeting tonight?

Oh, and this is for people on 3rd St, where I am staying. I think
people from other facilities will need their own itinerary.

Conner I think that that sounds good...probably meet in the lobby at 830 tomorrow morning to be safe?

What time is the meeting tonight?

Summer Term Students,

To get to the World Bank from the Residential and Academic Facility
should not take longer than 45 minutes (assuming no delays). You can
take the Red Line straight to Farragut North and walk from there
(rather than transferring lines). I recommend using http://www.wmata.com/
to map out your travel time and directions.

Sounds like a plan to me. Do we leave from Union Station or New York
Ave?

And personally, I'd prefer to leave the RAF at 8:45 or close to just
for precaution's sake, but if we are following people who know what
they're doing then I suppose nine is fine.

We go out of New York, which is like 2 blocks away then it is a straight shot on the Red Line

Ok, I'm a newbie to the area, how do we pay for the metro? Would I
need cash or credit card to purchase a metro pass? Do I need to get
that now or do it in the morning when we get to union station?

I think 8:30 out in the front lobby would be a better meeting time just so we are on the safe side. It is conceivable that it might take a few minutes to get organized.

8:30 am in the lobby tomorrow morning sounds great. I'm new to DC too, so I'm not too familiar with the metro, so lets stick together

The dress code is business professional, it's stated on the e-mail.

All right everyone!

So I think the consensus is 0830 tomorrow in the lobby. We'll head
over after ten minutes or so and then head over to NY Ave, and then to
the world bank! First day, woo!
