OK, I think I'm subscribed, but with the massive flood of
traffic this list sees, it's hard to tell.
Anyway, I've printed some stuff, working on documenting it for
the blog. Aside from our normal toolchain of replicatorg and
Slic3r, I've been learning a little bit of meshlab, and a little
bit of blender, and used netfabb's online service to clean up
some manifold errors. The blender I'm using is old, and it is
painful. Laptop keyboard and touchpad don't cut it, I need to
see about a scrollwheel 3-button mouse and a keyboard with
numpad.
I've been starting out generating .wrl files (VRML 2 or VRML 97,
not sure which reallly) in PyMOL, a program I used to know
pretty well, but probably too specialized for general interest
(it does have some generic 3D capabilities though).
I mentioned this at the meeting last night, but figure getting
it in writing wouldn't hurt as a test post, and for David's and
the archive's benefit.
The next thing I'd like to print is the dogbone part for Scott's
rubik puzzle. I've about got that read to cut in half so as to
print cut-side-down.
