"'It's just astounding, and unexpected,' said Xperts' Brosnahan of Postgres'
performance. 'I ran the test twice to make sure it was running right.
Postgres is just a really powerful database.'"
Somehow, this paragraph really makes me feel confident in the results of
this "benchmark". (not)
It's also interesting to note that MySQL was faster than Interbase on
transactions per second with a low number of users, especially since (AFAIK)
MySQL doesn't even support transactions.
Ok, I notice it says "Press Release", but somehow I get the impression
there's a benchmark "hiding" there.
(Not that there's much difference between the concepts)
Cheers,
Jarle
Further on in the article, it is noted that IB6 was tested through the
IB 5.6 ODBC driver. Not exactly a fair test, IMHO.

Use the native API. I could test M$ Word on its ability to render 3D
models, and it would fail every time. Of course, Word makes no claim to
support this feature, but IB does not claim to support OLE-DB, either.
One can (quite fairly) bemoan the lack of an OLE-DB driver, but a
"benchmark" comparing apples and oranges is no benchmark at all.
IMHO,
