Has anyone used other than Borland products to connect to Interbase 5.5
databases? What compliance level is reached by the new Intersolv ODBC
driver - specifically, can you access level 2 features such as calling a
stored procedure and getting its result, and can you create anything other
than a forward-only recordset (without getting Driver Not Capable)?

The FAQ at interbase.com conveniently gives you the compliance level of the
old Visigenic driver, but thats it...

Thanks in advance,
Andrew Cooke.

We've been using Interbase 5.5 with Crystal 7.0 with no problems (once we
got some updates from Crystal). We're calling stored procs and getting
results; haven't tried navigating backward in the resultset, though.

Hi Nataraj,

Can you tell what files are required from Seagate ? Can I download these
files from their site ?

I've tried Crystal 7 with Interbase 5.1.1 and everytime I try to join two
tables - Crystal errors out with a SQL error. I tracked it down the SQL
statement Crystal creates. I don't know why but it adds "{obj" to the
beginning of the FROM. If I remove it by hand then it works.

Thanks,

Shew

Sorry Nataraj, I probably should have addressed this to Dan.

We use Quick Reports for built-in reporting. We tell our customers to get
Crystal for end-user reporting.

Shew:

The files for 5.1.1 are on the Crystal web site, somewhere. I can't recall
the exact name/location. Try searching for Interbase.

We're running 5.5 (new ODBC driver) now which fixes some issues we had with
5.1 and Crystal.
