Internship

Hi! I am a first year CSE student from a 3rd tier engineering college. I want to pursue an internship at IISc. Although I am aware of Summer Fellowship program provided by IISc to 3rd year SC/ST students, but I am neither a 3rd year student nor do I belong to SC/ST category. I am highly motivated and want to develop my skills. Even though I am a first year student but I have finished most of the core 2nd year syllabus like DS and Algo, CO, DMS and Graph Theory.

 Is it possible for me to be able to do internships with whatever little skills I have mentioned ? If not, can you please guide me on what are the other skills that I need to work on ?

Also if not IISc, are there other colleges which offer Internships to undergrads ? Can you please suggest me some tips ?
