If you can't make it for the whole event, you'll also be able to buy tickets just for our main celebration night on Dec 31 (staying overnight included in price).  See further below for details.

LOCATION & ACCOMMODATIONS

This year, our location will be Camp Squeah https://squeah.com/ , located approximately 20 miles North of Hope, BC.  Approximate driving time from Vancouver (starting at Main and Broadway) is 2.5 hours.  Accommodations will be pre-arranged in shared, winterized cabins, and the registration process will give every participant an opportunity to notify us of any accessibility needs.

FOOD

Our meals will be catered by Turnip the Beetz https://www.turnipthebeetz.com/ and are included in the ticket price!  Turnip the Beetz will be familiar to those who were at Burn in the Forest or Heart of Tantra this past summer.  Their food (which is largely vegan and gluten-free) is organic, locally sourced and delicious. We will be serving two full hot meals per day (lunch and dinner) and a lighter self-serve breakfast for early risers.  Bringing additional foods for between-meal snacks, treats, and special dietary needs is encouraged, and refrigeration will be available.   Contact kit...@intentiongathering.org if you have any questions.  The registration form will give plenty of space for describing food intolerances and allergies.

A big part of the culture of Intention is creating an environment where people can explore their self-expression! Workshops are a fantastic way to enrich your experience and discover new interests. Explore and laugh with your inner child, stimulate your mind with philosophical discourse, and prepare to move into a new year with renewed energy.

ARTISAN MARKET

Our Artisan Market plans to be bustling with unique vendors from the community. These artisans will be bringing one of a kind pieces, handcrafted goodies, feathery goodness and costume pieces galore for your purchase. You’re sure to find a thing or two to compliment your costumes, fill your tummy or soothe your skin. So plan on bringing SOME CASH to spend on these wonderful creations!

PARTICIPATION AND CO-CREATION

Intention is participant-driven and organized entirely by volunteers who are members of the community. Performers and organizers are not paid, and all participants share their labour and talent out of love for the community.  Bring your curiosity and join us as we co-create something truly special!  Everyone is encouraged to find their own way to connect into the festival flow and become involved in the daily life, music and general production of the event.

We still need individuals to join the organizing team, and step into certain organizing roles, in particular: the Passion Show, Vibe Tribe, and the Accommodation Coordinator (perfect for anyone passionate about accessibility!)  Short descriptions of these pods are here: https://intentiongathering.org/pods

If you are interested in any of these roles, or in volunteering some hours pre-event to other pods, without having to actually join the organizing team and attend meetings, please contact us at in...@intentiongathering.org

There are plenty of positions where volunteering can be done in a less intensive capacity, and/or with no actual duties until the event itself.

VOLUNTEER HOURS

Volunteering is the heart of Intention and crucial to its success. We are fully committed to making your volunteer experience fun and fulfilling.  This year all participants will offer a minimum of four hours of volunteering (think of it as less than an hour a day!) though exceptions can be made in certain cases.

This may include welcoming people at the gate, helping with decor, cooking for your friends in the kitchen, being a calm presence at peer support, facilitating a game in the Kids' zone or helping to make sure we leave the venue as beautiful as it was when we arrived. You can choose which parts of the event you are stoked to support.  Your volunteer preferences will be recorded during the registration process.

TICKETS

Tickets will go on sale at 8:00pm on Thursday Nov 16 !  Be ready!

Adults:
Tier 1: $460 plus GST
Tier 2: $485 plus GST
Tier 3: $525 plus GST

Children 4 and under are free. Youth 5-12 are $125 plus GST, Youth 13-18 are $225 plus GST.

One night NYE tickets: $75.00 plus GST

Food, accommodation, parking, and all activities are included in your ticket price.

Please purchase a Tier 3 ticket if you can comfortably afford one to leave cheaper tickets (or subsidy funds) for lower income community members.

LOWER INCOME SUBSIDIES

Lower income subsidies are available on adult ticket prices only.  For details accessing subsidies, see below, but we'd first like to explain the ticket price for those who need these subsidies.

Intention is a not-for-profit organization.  The ticket price is set at the minimum level required, based on the amount the camp is charging us for your accommodation and food, plus your share of fixed costs like the transport truck for sound gear, plus a tiny amount of wiggle room for the organization to be able to cover contingencies. As we are all too aware, these kinds of costs have been going up steadily over the past several years.

The only way we can make tickets more affordable for those on lower incomes is if people donate to increase the amount of subsidy requests we can meet. If you're concerned that your friends won't be able to make it, and you are able, please donate to help them.  Intention still remains cheaper than any similar event we're aware of providing food and accommodation, let alone a conventional holiday. If you are able, please consider donating some of what you'd save to the subsidy fund.  We can receive PayPal donations at the account intent...@gmail.com. Other means of funds transfer available on request, contact in...@intentiongathering.org for details.

If you'd like to request a lower income subsidy without which you wouldn't be able to attend, please do so when buying your ticket. There will be a field on the registration form to request a subsidy. Please note that we may not be able to grant 100% of the requests, though we will attempt to.  In general all participants who request subsidy will receive the same percentage of what they requested.  We will send you back your approved amount after ticket sales end (approx. Dec 15, exact date still TBD).  If this amount is not enough that you can still afford the event (hopefully it will be), you will still have at least five days to sell the full price ticket you paid for to someone else - based on past experience you'll very likely succeed, as more than enough people look for tickets after we close sales.  

Parents, please be aware that youth tickets are already heavily discounted by the venue and the caterer, and the ticket prices are already much lower as a result, so we are not offering further subsidies for those tickets.

IMPORTANT ACKNOWLEDGMENT

We would like to acknowledge and bring attention to the fact that the land on which we will gather for this event is the traditional, unceded and illegally occupied territory of the Yale First Nation, as well as the Stó:lō, Nlaka’pamux, and many other indigenous peoples.

We have tremendous gratitude for this land and everything that it provides, and invite awareness and consideration of how and why the people of the nation of Canada have access to all of its beauty and abundance.  We always strive to leave no trace and to protect the land where we gather.
