The leaves have fallen, the nights are long, and the days
have an icy breeze that penetrates to the bone. The bears
and squirrels are nestled in their dens, but we drudge on.
Work, school, responsibilities; we can’t stop to hibernate,
no matter how strong the urge. But as the year comes to an
end, we are granted a brief pause, and in that breath, we
are creating a den of our own; one of companionship, art,
and growth. Where our bodies can rest and our souls can
replenish. Protected from the winds of the outside world, we
can be free to exist as we are, and celebrate in the magic
of those around us. We will be safe, loved, joyful, and
together in our den of dreams.
