Summer Intention Extension 2023

Sunday July 9

2:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Trout Lake Park (see below for details)

Hello Intention community!

We are still basking in the afterglow of another magical Summer Intention. ❤ ❤

AND we are buzzing with anticipation to recreate some of the magic with anyone who can join us at John Hendry Park (Trout Lake) this Sunday!

We will bring a sound system, you bring your shining selves and some food and drink to share! You are welcome to bring games and flow toys. A blanket or something else to sit on is a good idea.

If you’d like to offer a workshop or other group activity, please email potl...@intentiongathering.org .

This invitation is open to anyone who attended Summer Intention 2023, people who attended previous Intention events, anyone you feel would have loved Summer Intention, or people who would like to connect to the Intention community. Please invite your friends. Children welcome.

We need a few volunteers to help with set up or tear down. If you can help, please email potl...@intentiongathering.org .

🥗🥗🥗 POTLUCK 🥗🥗🥗

Bring something yummy to share with others. Please label your item with the ingredients for those with allergies.  Potluck is optional if you aren't in the mood for one!

Bring your own plates, cups and cutlery to reduce waste.

It would be great to get regular potlucks going again. If you have a space to host up to 30 people and would like to invite some Intention love into your home, please email potl...@intentiongathering.org or fill in the form on our website:

🎶🎶🎶 MUSIC 🎶🎶🎶

Confirmed DJs:
Amethystra: https://www.mixcloud.com/Amethystra/

More TBA!

If you’d like to DJ, please email pa...@intentiongathering.org .

🗺️🗺️🗺️ LOCATION 🗺️🗺️🗺️

We plan to set up on the southeast edge of the park, near East 18th Avenue. This area will be mostly sunny in the afternoon, so bring shade structures if you can. Bring sunscreen, hats and parasols.  See the attached image for a map.  Note: you can park wherever you want of course, that map just marks the closest parking.  please consider biking, walking, or transit as options!

Also, the pin that FB puts in the FB event page (at least in some cases) is now correct, points to the same place.

❤️❤️❤️ CONSENT ❤️❤️❤️

Intention consciously fosters a culture of consent. We want everyone to feel comfortable and respected at our events. If you’re unsure about an interaction or unsure if you have consent, please remember to ask first. Remember, only an ongoing positive, enthusiastic response means Yes! If someone is being non-consensual, please contact one of the many volunteers at the event.

🎉🎉🎉 ABOUT INTENTION 🎉🎉🎉

Intention was born leading up to New Years of 2000, as a gathering to celebrate the ‘end of the world’ with loved friends, family, electronic music, workshops, and ritual. Intention now puts on regular multi-day gatherings, one-night fundraisers, and regular potlucks; and maintains a supportive community e-mail list.

Intention is co-created and community driven. Everyone who wants to get involved in organizing is welcome. We’d love for you to be involved! Please e-mail in...@intentiongathering.org .

🌲🌲🌲 Land Acknowledgement 🌲🌲🌲

We would like to acknowledge and bring attention to the fact that the land on which we gather (around Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast) is the traditional, unceded and illegally occupied territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Shishá7lh (Sechelt), and Səl̓ilwətaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

We have tremendous gratitude for this land and everything that it provides, and invite awareness and consideration of how and why the people of the nation of Canada have access to all of its beauty and abundance. We always strive to leave no trace and to protect the land where we gather.
