Hi all,i juz recently been accepted to this group and i was very happy
^^
Thanks to the geniuses that created modded driver for GMA 950,my lil
lappy can play games smoothly..
my lappy stats:
-Windows XP Pro
-Intel Core Duo T2300E (overclocked to 1.84GHz)
-1 GB DDR2
-i945gm (GMA 950)

Juz asking,i tried some installation on drivers..i've downloaded the
v1.2 driver,install it and it run smoothly (thanks to Kingpin.)
But then i tried,replacing the driver "igxp32.inf" of the driver which
dated 12/12/2008 with the inf from intel's latest 4 series driver inf
which dated 21 jan 2009 and add the following to the inf:

%iCNTG0% = iCNT0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27A2
%iCNTG1% = iCNT1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27A6

and istall it....
notice a slight improvement on F.E.A.R (maybe to outdated for u guys,
juz played it now im running modded driver ^^) and increase fps in
warhammer winter assault on higher res.

*27A2 and 27A6 are my device ids

so the question is,are the two inf is the same?? is the date make a
difference to driver??
juz want to add my knowlegde on my lil GMA machine ^^..

well if u got XP
u dont have to replace anything... just leave it as u found it pls :)
the V1.2 is easy to install just run the setup and click continue till
its over

I see,yup,v1.2 works perfectly for me,no complains ^^,i juz want to
know and gain knowlegde from geniuses like urself MAD_BEAST ^^
oh ya,with v1.2,Splinter Cell Chaos Theory doesn't run in my
machine,odd..help would be nice ^^..

to run Splinter Cell Chaos theory (BTW is run pretty well) all u have
to do is with the v1,2 installed use 3d analyze

*EMULATE HW TnL Caps
*Force SW TnL


thats it :) check both boxes and run the exe of the game trough 3DA ^^

its a great game and it run perfectly i had to unistall cuz this game
is all about patience... and i can deal with games like that i need
instant action!!!

i just played chaos theory last night for a while, i was having issues
with the coloring so i set screen res to 800x600 and in 3danalyze i
used
emulate hw tnl caps
force sw tnl and i set it so skip shader 2.0 and force high precision
shader. not a problem after all of that. i can even turn on the night
vision and other visions without any crash now. i am still having a
few issues with pandora tomorrow and battlefield 2142 though.
and to mad_beast i have a huge list of games that i have been able to
run on my laptop and im sure a few of them are not on your list yet
where should i upload the list to.

btw Chaos theory for me was like this 1280x800 all hifh except shader
model set to 1.1

try using the settings i gave u guys with 3DA... to see if it works...
perhaps the lack of performance is due to those others Boxes in 3DA
that u checked but are not needed at all:)

and it runs great with shader 2.0 it is just pandora tomorrow that i
am having issues with. it loads and then when i go to start a mission
it crashes.

you need to use 3danalyze. if you dont have that already you can get
it from the files section on the right side of the page.

i know,my settings are, emu hardware tnl,force software tnl,emulate
pixel shader cap,forgot to mention the game just pop up fullscreen
black for a couple of second,then puff,back to my lovely desktop
again....wat did i do wrong?

these are the settings i use, im sure you do not need all of them but
these are what works best for me.

Emulate HW TnL caps
Force SW TnL
Skip pixel shader 1.4
Force high precision pixel shader
vendor id: 4098
Device id: 20812
force 100hz

i am using the chaos theory\system\splintercell.exe
give them a try, if that does not work maybe some one else can be of a
bit more help.

PAndora tomorrow WONT run under XP it works with WIN7 or VISTA

or three coz yes i agree with MAD_BEAST..
awww,looks like more games run on 7 than XP,maybe i would consider
upgrading to 7 once i upgrade my RAM to 2.5 gb...^^
