So a little digging around with my old unmodified computer with intel
gma graphics (cbf finding out which chipset though) i found the game
strings like normal {4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} > 0000 and
a few games such as ~Crysis.exe but what i found quite strange is some
of them are using dword value 2 and a few of them (looks like
benchmark tools, vantage or something like that) it has dword value
16, anyone figured out what they do? i'm going to test it out ASAP to
see if they really do anything much appart from the normal dword
values of 1 and 0 etc.

Ok so i tested street fighter IV on gma with modded dword value 2, it
seems my fps from 14~15 jumped to 20~24 fps, could it be that switch 2
causes it do do both gpu and software vertex rendering? Probably not
though since many intel gpus dont seem to have hardware rendering of
these things >.>

gonna check back with switch 16

ty ty, btw i tested with switch 16, funny thing is i didnt see any
performance increase from switch 2 (its like in between switch 1 and 2
with this) anyone else want to test the switches out?

I would but it appears that switches don't work on 950GMA on XP :/

those are two breakthroughs in a row!

correct me if im wrong but 16 is equivalent to 2 in binary

Mad_Beast, you need to delete all the addreg from the download
section.... they are all wrong..... or at least doesn't cover all the
registry edit you need to do, therefore not using the TnL
correctly...

I'll upload a good and fixed version including some tweaks in there in
a few moments.

That's source games for you, this would explain why I saw very little
if any performance boost under any of my games with the value set to
1, I do remember setting them to different values such as 2,4,6 and
onwards but it just caused issues for me (lol L4D crashed on mine and
I had a weird shadow glitch in CS:S that was caused by it) so I didn't
worry about it.

Note that this was a while ago when I was using the 1.0 Win7 MD

I guess I can try it on some games....

So just change the dword value to 2 instead of 1?

I don't see the new addgame.reg in the download section

Tried it on Half Life 2 and Need for Speed Most Wanted and saw no
increase in frame rate.

I think I did it right.

Check for SoftwareTnL.reg in the download section.

Thanks I tried it out on half life 2 with no changes but Need for
Speed Most Wanted had an increase of 2-3 fps which is helpful in
certain situations where it slows down.

I will try it on other games have to see if they also get an increase.

Just a Q, in the new .reg file do I chnage the wow.exe to the
executable and leave the numbers alone?

Yea, so its like ~GAME.exe

GAME meaning the main executable for the game. Some games are
confusing though, like SC2 beta for instance that have several
executables.

Wow, this is new, although I know games use numbers 0,1,2 for graphic
settings but never heard anyone use it in registry :D. Good finding!
Oh man, now the reg file in MD pack should be changed too :S
Will test it right away!

the TnL rendering using both GPU and CPU struck my mind, great idea...lol...im gonna research it also and post my findings here, it is a great day indeed, the 1st time that more ppl working 2gether in 9xx history..lol..

Well to find which is the true .exe running just use the task manager
to see after you run the game.

I have two games with the same name "game.exe" which can get in the
way sometimes...

I will try, when i have the time
for those of you who want to know my system specs as follows oh and
don't LOL at me okay?
=========================================================================================
CPU: Intel celeron 585 single core 2.16GH/z
RAM: 2GB 667MHz
GPU: I think its x3100 or 965 not too sure, gonna check ASAP.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (gaming), Mac OSX Snow leopard (for fun)
Readyboost: 2GB SD Card

I wonder if there is any more performance increase when using
readyboost too >.> anyone wanna check? i cant exactly take out my SD
card ish jammed

Readyboost can give fps boost in memory demanding game, but to notice it, the memory media must support a full usb2.0 transfer rate...and SD card barely give the ummph ^^

OK, I tested the new config, not thing change for my game (SC2),
however, I really believe that SW TnL was enabled. I tested a small 95
KB game named kkrieger or someting like that. First it didn't run
(normally or with old reg files), it should run with this file. Guess
it can be considered as a tiny SW TnL tester
http://www.theprodukkt.com/kkrieger
Actually I did run it with Display Management tool, realized that the
soft shows 3 folders(0000,0001,0002) so I added them all. Just wasn't
sure about it so I didn't post here (only complaint that reg file
didn't work) xD
So, the final conclusion is sad but true(as always)that SW TnL works
only for some games

That game is very important for testing lol I tried to find the name
of that game a few days ago...

I say someone should upload it to the site (ill upload to mediafire later)

Tried this fix on my system.

CPU: Core 2 Duo 1.6 Ghz
RAM: 2 GB
GPU: x3100 + Sigma x86
OS : Win7 Home Premium

Results on tested games:

Max FPS on FRAPS: StarCraft 2: 17 FPS (all low settings 1024x768), NBA
2K10: 32-33 FPS (low to medium settings 1024x768)

Overall, it added 3-4 FPS.

BTW, I can't seem to find these entries in the registry

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Video
\{2E9E51A7-60C6-4184-B247-C9C80FAC379E}\0000]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Video
\{2E9E51A7-60C6-4184-B247-C9C80FAC379E}\0001]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Video
\{2E9E51A7-60C6-4184-B247-C9C80FAC379E}\0000]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Video
\{2E9E51A7-60C6-4184-B247-C9C80FAC379E}\0001]

This is based on SoftwareTnL.reg in the download section.
