I have a mixed bag of computers running Windows 95/98 on an NT LAN using TCP/IP as the primary protocol. I have IPX installed on the machines in the computer lab in addition to TCP/IP. My problem is that the teacher can broadcast to the students, but not view them. I seem to have an intermittent problem with LANSchool killing the network also. On some stations, the network just "goes away" immediately after installation and will not return until Windows has been totally reinstalled. Any ideas on either? I'm stumped.

Setup the IPX protocol for a frame type instead of Auto. If you are getting timeouts this will fix the problem. Make sure the frame type on all computers is set to the same frame type, 802.2. Since LANSchool does not work with TCP/IP you may need to uninstall TCP/IP on these computers. If the WUSER32 agent is connecting to the tcp/ip protocol then you would not be able to view the students.
